Agate Fossil Beds National Monument - Harrison - Fossils and much, much more. During the 1890s, scientists discovered bones preserved in one of the most complete Miocene mammal sites in the world. From early animals roaming the valleys and hills, to tribal nations calling the High Plains home, to explorers passing through or settling in the American West.
 
Car Henge - Alliance - Carhenge, which replicates Stonehenge, consists of the circle of cars, 3 standing trilithons within the circle, the heel stone, slaughter stone, and 2 station stones, and the Aubrey circle.
 
Farm And Ranch Museum - Gering - The Farm And Ranch Museum offers an excellent look at High Plains agriculture of the past. The Museum has a large collection of agriculture equipment used in the past.
 
Museum of the Fur Trade - Chadron - 3 mi. east on U.S. 20. This first industry of the West involved Native Americans with trappers and traders of several nationalities. The Bordeaux Trading Post, built in 1837, stands on the museum grounds.
 
North Platte Valley Museum - Gering - See the valley's history from prehistoric times to the present. Handicapped Accessible.
 
Riverside Zoo and Campground - Scottsbluff - 1 mi. west of Broadway on the S. Beltline Highway. Riverside Zoo is home to over 300 animals representing 97 species. Residents include chimpanzees, river otters, bengal tigers, moose, a walk-through aviary, bison, african hoof stock, various reptiles and much more. Feed water fowl on the zoo's lake and enjoy a playground and petting zoo.
 
Scotts Bluff National Monument - Gering - A majestic landmark used by the Indians, fur trappers, pioneers and modern travelers. Oregon Trail still visible. Museum tells story of the Oregon Trail. Handicapped Accessible.

Dawson County Historical Museum - Lexington - Main building houses period rooms depicting daily life around the turn of the century, glassware, quilt collection, archives and library for research, artists gallery, and gift shop. Also on display a 15,000 year old Columbian Mammoth, McCabe Aeroplane featuring eliptical wings, a school house, a train depot, a log cabin, a 1903 Baldwin locomotive, and an agricultural building.
 
Great Platte River Road Archway Monument - Kearney - Visit the Archway, located near Kearney, Nebraska I-80 Exit 272, The Archway was voted Attraction of the Year and features an interactive journey through the history of transportation and communication along the Great Platte River Road. Featuring stunning audio-visual effects to tell the story of the Oregon, Mormon, California and Pony Express as well as the Lincoln Highway which became Hwy 30.
 
Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles - Lexington - Restored military vehicles including jeeps, trucks, ambulances, helicopters, airplanes and one of the world's few remaining Downed Airman Retriever.
